This is the traditional Ghanaian “Adinkra” symbol NKYINKYIM, which means “twistings.” It is the symbol of adaptability, devotion to service and grace under hardship. It also symbolizes initiative, dynamism, toughness, and versatility. It stresses the need to adapt to life, moving oneself around difficulties in order successfully fulfill one's duty. The Soul of Somanya artisans worked hard to create wire versions of their traditional symbols.
